Dan Rikkers – President and Founding Partner
Before founding Langdon Equities, Dan was a Vice President at Patriot Equities, a real estate private equity firm. He was responsible for originating, underwriting, and acquiring real estate from corporations, financial institutions, and private investors.
Previously Dan was a Vice President at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. in New York, where he was responsible for the origination of both long-term fixed rate conduit and short-term floating rate mortgages on various property types. While in the Commercial Mortgages group Dan specifically focused on the South Eastern United States.
Prior to Bear Stearns, Dan served as an Associate within the Real Estate Debt Capital Markets Group at Deutsche Bank in New York. While at Deutsche, he fulfilled a multitude of roles including capital markets, banking and trading. He was responsible for the pricing, structuring and hedging of commercial real estate loans, new issue distribution/syndication of CMBS and Real Estate CDO’s, origination and securitization of conduit and large loans, and secondary trading of CMBS, Ginnie Mae Project Loans and Fannie Mae DUS securities. Dan worked on well over $40 billion worth of transactions while at Deutsche.
Dan worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions group for Tucker Anthony Sutro, a middle market investment bank before working at Deutsche Bank. He conducted financial analyses related to leverage buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity offerings and recapitalizations.
Dan holds dual B.B.A degrees in Real Estate and Investments, Banking and Finance from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Jason Loewen – Partner via Loewen Capital
Jason is currently the CEO of Loewen Capital (www.loewencap.com) a commercial real estate investment firm based in Phoenix, AZ. Loewen Capital specializes in investing alongside Tier 1 sponsors in a wide variety of project types located across the country. Loewen is focused on apartment, industrial, specialty use and opportunistic property types. Loewen targets $1 million to $2 million dollar investments in either minority or majority control positions in a variety of structures (mezzanine, preferred equity, co-GP equity and LP equity).
Previously, Jason was the founder and CEO of Reliant Portfolio Management, a commercial real estate investment firm which raised multiple investor funds targeting direct investments in single family, condo and town-home investments. Jason has been involved in more than 175 real estate transactions totaling in excess of $50 million and currently oversees a $10 million Private Placement debt offering for Phoenix property acquisitions. Jason also previously served clients as a private wealth advisor at Merrill Lynch, where he consistently created above market returns for his clients.
Jason earned his MBA at the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and a B.S. in Business Administration from Pacific Union College.
Andy Goetz – Advisor
San Diego, CA
Andy is currently a principal with Goetz Ventures (www.goetzventures.net), a commercial real estate investment and consulting firm based in San Diego, CA. Goetz Ventures specializes in the acquisition of value-added opportunities across all property types in San Diego and the Midwest.
Prior to the formation Goetz Ventures, Andy was the Director of Retail Acquisitions for Next Realty in Chicago, IL for over five years. Next Realty is a privately held real estate firm that specializes in the acquisition and development of retail and parking investments on behalf of institutional partners and high-net-worth individuals. At Next Realty Andy was involved in the acquisition of over $100 million of commercial property including parking garages, shopping centers, mobile home parks, office buildings, multi-family properties and vacant land.
Before Next Realty, Andy spent two years as a Portfolio Manager and Underwriter for Builders Bank in Chicago, IL. Builders Bank is a Chicago-based institution with $500 million in assets that focuses on commercial real estate lending. At Builders Bank, Andy managed a $150 million portfolio of commercial real estate loans and participated in the origination of $50 million of construction loans.
Andy also spent time in Milwaukee, WI as a commercial appraiser for a boutique appraisal firm and as a consultant with PriceWaterhouse Coopers’ Financial Advisory Services Group in Chicago, IL. Andy graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with dual degrees in Real Estate and Marketing and is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in Illinois and California.
Jim Bernard – Advisor
Jim is a Principal of PSW Real Estate (www.pswrealestate.com), a real estate development company dedicated to building sustainable urban properties in the central core of Austin, Texas, and is responsible for managing all aspects of the firm’s investor relationships as well as raising capital for its partnerships. Jim provides seasoned advice to Langdon Equities across all commercial real estate products.
Before joining PSW Real Estate, Jim was a Partner at Langdon Equities specializing in debt and equity placement and brokering investment properties. Prior to Langdon, Jim was a Vice President of The PNL Companies, a real estate investment firm focused on acquiring non-conforming assets and providing venture capital to middle-market real estate entrepreneurs, as well as in the Capital Markets Group of Trammell Crow Company raising capital for development projects and managing a team of underwriters responsible for selling $1.6 billion worth of investment properties. Jim also worked in the Financial Services Group of Cushman & Wakefield, where he underwrote nearly $400 million worth of closed investment property sales, at Sarofim Realty Advisors and in the Structured Finance Group of Lend Lease REI/AMRESCO.
Jim holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. Jim is a licensed Texas Real Estate Broker and lives in Austin with his wife Casey and two boys.
